Paul Cathey is a Chicago-born-and-raised ABA therapist. Paul’s path to ABA therapy began with working in public schools with AmeriCorps after receiving his BA from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. He has also spent time working and volunteering with a range of counseling services including supervising on the California Warmline at the Mental Health Association of San Francisco.
Alongside working with the SBS therapy team, Paul works as a community psychology research assistant at DePaul University. His work there revolves around data science, interviewing research participants, and the study of post-viral illnesses such as long COVID.
Before joining SBS, Paul spent a year at a Zen Buddhist monastery in central California studying mindfulness and working in their world-famous off-grid kitchen (see “The Complete Tassajara Cookbook”).
Fun fact: Outside of work Paul is an avid bike camper and enjoys going on hikes with his dog Ushi.
